Q: Is there a driving force behind your healthy lifestyle? Was it a person in your life, a certain event, were you brought up in a healthy environment? What makes you a healthy individual? A : I love fitness. I find that I am in a much better mood the more I can work out and it helps to relieve stress. The gym that I am a part of really helps keep you accountable in that we work together as a team. If you aren't there they check on you to see what's going on and help keep you encouraged to keep coming back. Q: How would you encourage another person to pursue a healthy lifestyle? A : I would say start small. Set attainable and achievable goals for yourself and find someone who will work out with you, to go on walks with and to help keep you motivated. Once you start with the healthy habits, even if it's just taking a walk for 15 minutes a day, you will feel better. Q: What activities do you engage in to reduce stress? A: My favorite activity to engage in is Flying Yoga. Yes, I said Flying Yoga. This yoga class is like no other. It keeps you actively engaged while relaxing you as well. The other class I really love to relieve stress is Body Combat. Body Combat allows you to punch and kick out your frustration in a healthy way. The class itself is designed to good music, challenging choreography and burns at between 700-900 calories depending on your level of activity.
