Battle of the Valleys Pedometer Challenge

FREE pedometers are available for pick up in Lake Michigan Hall 140!

  • 9/12 Teams registration opens at midnight
  • 10/3 Battle begins!
  • 9/29 Late registration open through October 7th
  • 11/9 Challenge ends. Final entries must be made by 12pm
  • 11/12 GVSU vs. SVSU Football Game-Winners announced

TEAMS

  1. Identify a team captain and three teammates (Don't have three team mates? Call 331-2215 to leave your name as a free agent and we can get you on a team!)
     
  2. Determine your competition level:
    Level 1-The majority of our team members perform physical activity less than three days a week
    Level 2-The majority of our team members perform physical activity more than three days a week or have positions which require walking for most of the day.
     
  3. Team captains visit the web portal and register your team by entering each email for your team member.
     
  4. Track team progress. Once the team captain has registered a team, each team member can access the portal using their novell username and log in to track their own progress on the activity tracker (note: there is an activity conversion chart for non-walking activities). If you do not have your own pedometer, one is available for each team member at Lake Michigan Hall 140 at no charge. If you are not located on the Allendale campus contact us at healthandwellness@gvsu.edu or 331-2215 and we can send you one. Get moving! 

 

NEW THIS YEAR! Weekly bonus challenges!
Each week a challenge will be presented to individuals to complete to earn an additional 10,000 bonus steps for their teams. Challenges and details are underneath the "Bonus Challenge" tab on the tracking portal.
