Honoring Senator Arthur Vandenberg: Statue Dedication

Arthur Vandenberg, born in 1884 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, studied law at the University of Michigan. After working 22 years as editor and publisher of the Grand Rapids Herald, Vandenberg was appointed to fill the vacancy left by deceased Republican Woodbridge N. Ferris in the United States Senate – a seat Senator Vandenberg would hold until his death in 1951.
