Chapter 3 - Parking Violations Bureau

3.1 A Parking Violations Bureau is hereby established as the exclusive agency to accept pleas of responsibility in cases of violations of the parking restrictions contained herein and to collect and retain the fines prescribed.

3.2 Parking Fines: The parking fine amount noted on the citation may be mailed or paid directly to the Dept. of Public Safety Services located in the Service Building, in person at the Cashier’s Office in the Student Services Building, at the Student Assistance Center located on the first floor of the DeVos Center, by telephone (616) 331-3255 or online by credit card at www.gvsu.edu/parking. There is also a parking ticket payment box located outside the Service building for deposit of ticket payments. Payment can be made by cash (do not mail cash), check or credit card. Coins will only be accepted if rolled.

3.3 Parking Fines-After Forty Days: The University reserves the right to place outstanding parking fines on the student’s account. Unpaid citations accrued by non students may be sent to collections after 40 days. Outstanding citations may also be sent to the 58th District Court in Hudsonville for collection. Failure to respond to a citation after it has been sent to court may result in the suspension of the registered owner’s driver’s license.
