Sophomores and juniors who are hoping to pursue research careers in the STEM fields and demonstrate academic excellence (3.7 or higher GPA), have previous research experience, and plan to pursue a Ph.D. are eligible to apply for the competitive Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.
Grand Valley’s Office of Fellowships can nominate up to four students and the campus deadline is December 2.
The scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships for outstanding undergraduate students who want to pursue research careers within the STEM disciplines. The scholarship covers expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board up to $7,500 per academic year.
Students interested in the Goldwater Scholarship should attend the Goldwater information session on September 18 from 12-12:50 in room 216 of the Mary Idema Pew Library. RSVP is requested by e-mailing email@example.com
Goldwater scholars are selected on the basis of academic merit from a field of mathematics, science, and engineering students who have been nominated by the faculties of colleges and universities nationwide.
