Wind energy costs and benefits are topics at MAREC event

The economic side of producing wind energy in West Michigan will be discussed at an event at Grand Valley State University’s Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center (MAREC). The event is part of the monthly Lunch and Learn Series.

Paul Isely, professor and chair of Grand Valley’s Economics Department, will discuss job creation, local energy sourcing, manufacturing, and construction, and will compare costs of wind-generated electricity with other forms of energy used to generate electricity.
