The New York Times Book Review recently named 2001 Grand Valley alumna Suzanne Rivecca's book of short stories, Death is Not an Option, as an Editor's Choice.

The author will discuss "What GVSU meant to me," on Thursday, October 7, from 2:30-3:45 p.m., in rooms 2215/2216 Kirkhof Center. This event is open to the public with free admission.

A native of Kalamazoo, Rivecca's fiction has appeared in Best New American Voices 2009, and received a Pushcart Prize, a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship from Stanford. She currently lives in Boston, where she holds a Bunting Fellowship at the Radcliffe Institute for Advance Study at Harvard.
