Police investigation

The Grand Valley Police Department and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department are conducting an investigation after an 18-month-old child, who was visiting with relatives on campus, died this weekend. The cause of death has not been determined, and it will take up to eight weeks to receive all results from the autopsy.
 
The university immediately made support services available to family members. Grand Valley State Police determined that there was, and is, no risk to the campus community.
