William F. Pickard, chairman and CEO of VITEC in Detroit, visits with an entrepreneurship class in Henry Hall on November 5. Pickard spoke to John Rumery's class prior to speaking at the Professionals of Color Lecture Series on "Entrepreneurship in the Global Economy."

In addition to VITEC, Pickard is chair and CEO of Global Automotive Alliance, with six manufacturing entities with eight plants in four states and Canada. He also serves on the board for numerous civic and business organizations. Pickard was a member of Grand Valley’s Board of Control from 1977-1988. There is a living center named for him on the Allendale Campus.
