Higher Education Students Present at Joint Conference

Jakia Fuller and Tiffany Steele, students in the Higher Education M.Ed. program presented their posters and papers on February 3 in Las Vegas. Thanks to support from the Academic Conference Fund, both students were able to attend and disseminate their individual research as well as a joint paper entitled Learning Race and Racism While Learning: The Experiences of International Students Pursuing Higher Education in the Midwestern United States. In addition to the joint project, Fuller presented her poster on Identity Development with African American Students in Relation to Black Studies Programs and Steele presented her poster on Retaining Staff Members of Color at Predominantly White Institutions. Dr. Donald Mitchell assisted both students with their work. Congratulations to both students!
