Midwest Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference Is Now Accepting Scholarly and Creative Submissions

Midwest Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference (MIGC) invites graduate student to submit proposals for performances, screenings, installations, readings, and scholarly presentation for the fourteenth annual conference on February 15th, 2019. This year’s conference theme is Artifice, and inquires how artifice and the artificial can be used to interrogate how we delineate the boundaries of reality and uncloak the veneer of oppressive deceptions and falsehoods.
For Creative Works, MIGC is seeking proposals for performances, screenings, installations, and readings. All performances should be kept between five and ten minutes. Proposals are to include:
- A short description of the intended piece and its relation to the conference theme ARTIFICE
- A title for the creative work
- Length (5 to 10 minutes)
- Creative work requirements (e.g. wall dimensions, floor space, microphone, projector, etc.)
- Your institutional affiliation
- Your department
- Your degree
- Your CV and samples of past work(s).
For Scholarly Works, MIGC is seeking submissions from emerging scholars in the humanities, arts, and humanistic sciences to present work that broadens our current understanding of artifice and how it engages with culture, theory, and society. Proposals are to include:
- A 300-word submission for individual papers, panels, posters, roundtables, workshops, or other formats
- A project title
- Your institutional affiliation
- Your department
- If you are a Master’s or Doctoral student
