Higher Education Student Honored for Professional Service

Congratulations to Alex Dudek ’16, M.Ed. in Higher Education student, who received the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Coalition for Graduate Students and New Professionals' 2016 Outstanding Dedication to Professional Service Award. He received his award in Montreal, Canada during ACPA’s 2016 Annual Convention. The award is given to a new professional or graduate student in higher education or a student affairs related field who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the field of student affairs through involvement in professional associations (both local, regional, and national), committees, conferences, and/or graduate program recruitment (ACPA, n.d.). 

In his graduate assistant role, Dudek works with Fraternity and Sorority Life within GVSU’s Office of Student Life. Dudek’s responsibilities include working with and advising the Interfraternity Council, the Greek Life Council, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Dudek is a proud member of Pi Kappa Phi and is an active professional of fraternity and sorority life at the national level.
