Winter New Grad Student Orientation January 6th

The Office of Graduate Studies and Pew Campus Student Services are once again co-sponsoring the New Graduate Student Orientation for students who are starting their program in Winter 2010. The orientation is especially informative for graduate students who did not attend GVSU as undergrads, or did so many years ago. However, all new grad students are encouraged to attend.

Orientation will be held on January 6th, beginning with a 4 PM information session in the Loosemore Auditorium. A second information session will begin at 6:30 PM to accommodate those who work during the day. In between the two sessions, from 5-7 PM, a Resource Fair will be held in the Hager-Lubbers Exhibition Hall. Participants include a number GVSU services, including the Women’s Center, Library, Academic Computing, Career Services, and many others.

Some departments run their graduate program orientations concurrently with the New Graduate Student Orientation. This helps students make more efficient use of their time, and they can find everything they need to know in one evening. At the January 6 orientation, the Seidman College of Business will host a session for its new grad students beginning at 5:30 PM in the Loosemore Auditorium.

The New Graduate Student Orientation grows every year. The Fall 2009 orientation, which was held on August 26th, drew 305 participants. Please check out the photo gallery for pictures of the Fall 2009 New Graduate Student Orientation.
