Graduate Studies Website Updates

In July, the Office of Graduate Studies and Grants Administration became two separate departments. The web address www.gvsu.edu/gsga is no longer active. Items related to Graduate Studies from that site have been redirected to www.gvsu.edu/gs, which is the homepage for the Office of Graduate Studies. Users seeking information on Grants Development & Administration should visit www.gvsu.edu/grants.

The Graduate Studies (www.gvsu.edu/gs) site and the Graduate Students (www.gvsu.edu/gradstudents) site share information and link to one another. Recently, a review of both sites was conducted to reduce redundancy and ease usability.

Look for enhanced content on the Graduate Studies page, including photo galleries from graduate events on campus. Other additions include a new FAQ’s page and a Graduate Education Fact Book with graduate data by program. The 2009-2010 Graduate Student Guidebook is also available.

Petitions for Exceptions related to 8-Year Time Limits and 12-Credit Limits as a Non-Degree Seeking Student have been updated. New forms are posted online.

Graduate Presidential Research Grants information is now available on the Graduate Studies site. These awards were previously administered by the Faculty Research & Development Center, but are now housed in the Office of Graduate Studies.

The Gerontology Initiative will soon have its own page and content. The webpage www.gvsu.edu/gerontology is in testing stages and will soon be available, with complete information about the 2010 Art & Science of Aging conference, to be held on February 12, 2010.

Key words in the GVSU website search engine have been updated to direct users to the correct pages.

The email address gsga@gvsu.edu has been discontinued, redirect to graduatestudies@gvsu.edu. Email sent to the GSGA address will forward to the new Graduate Studies address for a period of time. To send an email to Grants Administration, please use grants@gvsu.edu.

Please update your favorite places, book marks, email distribution lists, and other documents to reflect these changes!
