Mission of the City of Grand Rapids

The mission of the Executive Office is to facilitate quality city service delivery, coordinate inter-departmental cooperation, and provide services to our internal and external customers. We carry out our responsibilities under the direction of the City Commission, by working with departments and building team solutions to improve service delivery.

Role of the City of Grand Rapids in the Weed & Seed Program

The City of Grand Rapids Executive Office provides a representative to the Weed & Seed steering committee, Haris Alibasic.  The City of Grand Rapids is responsible for helping direct both the 'weed' and 'seed' strategies within Central City, providing support to other agencies in efforts to reduce narcotics, aggravated assaults and gun violence, and provide neighborhood restoration efforts.  The City of Grand Rapids provides a crucial role in assisting other agencies and associations through the representation of the city's administration.
