Jubilee Jobs serves Christ by equipping and empowering the economically underdeveloped for self-sufficiency, emotional healing and spiritual renewal. 

Role of Jubilee Jobs in the Weed & Seed Program

Jubilee Jobs!, located within the Central City Weed and Seed area, is an agency geared toward helping the community by providing participants with the opportunity to develop academic and employment skills to equip and empower them to become more successful in their community. 

Jubilee Jobs has many different programs for men, women, and youth. The following describes programs offerings:
WISE Men/Women (Workforce Interventions for Successful Employment)
 
This program is intended to help reduce barriers, secure employment and ensure employment retention. It includes job counseling and employer linkages plus uses of the job lab, peer dialogue groups, healthcare services, and supportive services.

 

JET (Job Employment Training)
 
This program is aimed at working with welfare recipients. It is part of the Enhanced Motivational Services of the Work First Program and includes intensive employability skills development instruction and education completion opportunities.
 
MPRI (Michigan Prison Re-entry Initiative)
 
Re-entry involves the use of programs targeted at promoting the effective re-integration of offenders back into communities upon release from prison and jail. Re-entry programming, which often involves a comprehensive case management approach, is intended to assist offenders in acquiring the life skills needed to succeed in the community and become law-abiding citizens.
 
A variety of programs are used to assist offenders in the re-entry process. Jubilee Jobs utilizes its WISE Men and Wise Women programs to assist these ex-offenders in their search for employment and training. This involves but are not limited to: (1) Job Search and Referral (2) Computer Lab (3) Resume and Interview Preparation (4) Peer Group Classes (5) Counseling (6) Medical Referral (7) GED Preparation (8) Job Readiness Classes, and (9) Transitional Work Experience.
  
PBLI (Preparing for a Better Life Initiative)
 
This program is a community-based, jail-based, and re-entry collaborative effort. This program provides life skills, employability coaching, and also case management support. The goal of the project is to reduce recidivism rate among participants and develop a new community based re-entry model that can be replicated locally and in other communities.
 
YES! 4U (Youth Employment Success for You)
 
A year-round program for youth ages 14-21 that focuses on future economic opportunities and choices. Participants learn about career opportunities – discovery and preparation, and finding and keeping jobs. The program focuses on positions in the fields of business, technology, and healthcare.
 
There are two main tracks to this program. The first is YES! Prep, which is for In-School Youth ages 14-18. They will be involved in a summer paid internships, year round tutoring, career exploration, employability instruction, and computer skills training.
 

The second program is YES! OnPoint, which is for Out-of-School Youth ages 19-21. It includes employability training, possible paid internships, career exploration, computer skills training, job placement services, GED preparation/coordination, and application completion assistance.
