The Central City Weed & Seed site is located among the following neighborhoods: Baxter, East Hills, Eastown, Madison, and South East End communities. This site is under the direction of a Steering Committee, a Site Director and Grand Valley State University as the fiduciary. Collaboration between the Department of Justice, The City of Grand Rapids, the Grand Rapids Police Department, Neighborhood Associations, local residents, businesses and organizations share the goal of ‘weeding out’ drug- and gun-related criminal activity and “seeding” services that support prevention, intervention, treatment and community restoration.
