What Is Panhellenic?
What is the Panhellenic Association?
When you join one of the eight National Panhellenic Conference Sororities at Grand Valley State University, you also become a member of the Panhellenic Association. The Grand Valley Panhellenic Association is the umbrella organization for the eight NPC Sororities chartered at GVSU, and is responsible for organizing activities of mutual concern and interest to all of the sororities on campus.
The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), founded in 1902, is the encompassing organization for the twenty-six inter/national women's fraternities and sororities. Each member group is autonomous as a social, Greek-letter society of college women and alumnae. Members are represented on more than 620 college and university campuses in the United States and Canada and in more than 4,600 alumna associations, making up more than 4 million sorority women in the world.
The GVSU Panhellenic Association is composed of eight of the twenty-six NPC sororities. These sororities have enjoyed a rich history at Grand Valley since 1989. With the university's continued support the Panhellenic Association continues to grow and flourish through the efforts of its members. The eight chapters that have colonized at GVSU are Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Sigma Tau, Delta Zeta, Gamma Phi Beta, Phi Mu, Phi Sigma Sigma, and Sigma Kappa.

The Panhellenic Creed:
We, as Undergraduate Members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for the guarding of good health, for the maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony, with its best possibilities, is the the ideal that shall guide or fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
What does Panhellenic do?
