Fall Recruitment Schedule
Fall 2012 Recruitment Schedule:
Thursday, September 27th - 9:15pm
Recruitment Orientation
Meet in the Grand River Room to get all of the information about the weekend and your last minute questions answered. You will get to meet your Rho Gamma (Recruitment Guide) and all the other potentials! Get excited for Recruitment!
Friday, September 28th - 4:00pm
Round One: Informational
Event length: 30 minutes each
On this day you will visit all eight sororities. This round will take place in Kirkhof Center and will be your opportunity to get information from each chapter and talk with individual chapter members. Just remember to relax and have fun!
Saturday, September 29th - 9:00am
Round Two: Philanthropy
Event length: 30 minutes each
In this round you will visit up to six sororities. This round will take place in Kirkhof Center and will be your opportunity to find out more about each chapter’s national and local philanthropy. You may be asked to watch a video to learn more about each individual philanthropy or make a craft that will be donated.
Saturday, September 29th - 5:00pm
Round Three: House Tours
Event length: 1 hour each
In this round you will visit up to four sororities. This round will take place at each chapter house and will be your opportunity to look at the place where our women call home. This is a great chance to find out more about the obligations and requirements for each individual chapter. Transportation will be provided.
Sunday, September 30th - 11:00am
Round Four: Preference
Event length: 1 hour and 30 minutes each
On this day you will visit up to two sororities. This round will take place in Kirkhof Center or individual chapter houses. This is the final round where you will begin to understand what sisterhood means to each chapter through a ceremony or ritual that they will share with you. These ceremonies often include singing, senior or alumnae speakers, and other traditional activities. Transportation will be provided.
Monday, October 1st - 9:15pm
Bid Night!
Potential members will arrive at 7:30pm to find out which sorority has offered them membership. A formal ceremony will be held where the new members are introduced to the entire sorority community. Afterwards, the new members are invited back to the chapter houses for an informal gathering. Welcome to sorority life at Grand Valley!
