Philanthropy: ATO at Grand Valley State is proud to be one of the leaders in philanthropy. As an effort to help cultivate a campus community that holds service and giving in high regard, ATO has been able to raise over $150,000 in just 5 years for the National MS Society, Michigan Chapter. Their annual event, “ATO Walks Hard: Many Steps for MS”, is an eight day 160 mile hike during GVSU spring break. For more information visit “ATO Walks Hard: Many Steps for MS” on Facebook.
The Alpha Tau Omega fraternity was founded on February 15th 2008 at Grand Valley State University. As the first fraternity built on Christian, rather than Greek principles, Alpha Tau Omega takes pride in building strong relationships among brothers and within the community.
In the 9 short years on campus, Alpha Tau Omega has focused efforts on forming a strong identity on the Grand Valley campus through academics, philanthropy, and diverse participation in the community. Through these opportunities the fraternity seeks no greater goal than the elevation of man. Membership in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity offers young men the opportunity to cultivate their lives through brotherhood and compassion. As America’s Leadership Development fraternity, it is their goal to have their members be the leaders of tomorrow.
