Fraternity and Sorority Life Team
Michelle Burke, Director of Student Life - burkemi@gvsu.edu
Michelle is leading the Fraternity and Sorority Life team this year and will work specifically with a new Housing Task Force to explore future options on and off campus for fraternities and sororities. Michelle has been at GVSU since 2003. Prior to that she was Director of Student Leadership & Activities at Ferris State University (1998-2003), and the interim Greek Life Coordinator at the University of South Carolina (1996-1998) while she completed her master's degree. Michelle has a B.A. in Creative Writing from the Florida State University and an M.A. in Student Personnel Services from the University of South Carolina. She is a lifetime member and former national officer of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
Santiago Gayton, Fraternity & Sorority Life Coordinator - gaytonsa@gvsu.edu
Santiago currently serves as the Fraternity and Sorority Life Coordinator. Santiago received his B.A. in Political Science from Grand Valley State University in 2006 and his M.A. in Educational Administration and Leadership with Student Affairs Emphasis from the University of the Pacific in 2009. Prior to joining Grand Valley, Santiago worked at Texas A&M University as the Leadership Development Specialist for the Office of Greek Life where he served as the advisor to the Interfraternity Council and the Order of Omega and to develop leadership programs for the fraternity and sorority community. Santiago is a proud member of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. and a Chartering Brother of the Alpha Gamma Chapter at GVSU.
Kyle Martin, Graduate Assistant - martikyl@gvsu.edu
Kyle received his B.B.A. in Business Management in 2011 from Eastern Michigan University. He will be serving as the Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life in the Office of Student Life. Kyle's responsibilities will include working with the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and the Greek Life Council. During the past year he has served as a Chapter Services Consultant for Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity which he has been a proud member of since 2006.
Jazzmin Weathers, Graduate Assistant - weathjaz@gvsu.edu
Jazzmin Weathers received her B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Michigan and is currently the Graduate Assistant for the Greek Village in the Office of Student Life. Jazzmin's responsibilities include advising the Panhellenic Association and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Jazzmin is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Incorportaed.
Bryan Beran, Staff Assistant - greeksa@gvsu.edu
Bryan Beran is currently working to complete his B.S. in Health Communications and minor in Advertising and Public Relations from Grand Valley. Bryan serves as one of the Staff Assistants in the Office of Student Life for fraternities and sororities and is responsible for providing staff support to the Fraternity and Sorority Life Team. Additionally Bryan works with all statistical reports, the collection of data and forms, planning Greek 202, and correspondence with chapter presidents. Bryan is a proud member of Delta Sigma Phi.
Drew McMillan, Staff Assistant - greeksa@gvsu.edu
Drew is currently working to complete his B.A. in General Business from Grand Valley He serves as one of the Staff Assistants in the Office of Student Life for fraternities and sororities and is responsible for PR and marketing Greek events and initiatives, Greek Allies & Advocates, and the National Hazing Prevention Week. Additionally, Drew manages all social media campaigns for Fraternity and Sorority Life. He is a proud member of Delta Tau Delta.
