US Department of Justice

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) Grants Management System (GMS) is an interactive web-based system created by DOJ to conduct all aspects of electronic business pertaining to funding.

The Office of Justice Programs works in partnership with the justice community to identify the most pressing crime-related challenges confronting the justice system and to provide information, training, funding, coordination, and innovative strategies and approaches for addressing these challenges. Their Grants 101 site will help navigate the OJP funding process.

The GMS provides all potential and existing grantees a means to conduct various activities electronically. While some proposals are submitted completely through Grants.gov, some DOJ proposals and renewals are submitted through GMS. Once a proposal is awarded, all reports, extensions, and budget adjustments must be submitted through GMS.

Note: PIs may be required to register in GMS prior to proposal submission. PIs must register individually, selecting GVSU as the Organization. Please contact the OSP for assistance with registration.
