M.Ed. Overview

Grand Valley State University’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree is designed to help experienced educators increase their professional and academic knowledge and skills and prepare for education service through a specific emphasis area.

About the M.Ed. Degree

The M.Ed. degree program is offered through Grand Valley’s College of Education and emphasizes sound theoretical foundations grounded in practice. Faculty members are leaders in their fields, melding together the philosophy of education and students’ needs as practitioners.

Each candidate for the M.Ed. degree must complete six semester hours in foundation courses in the following areas: research and evaluation and social foundations of education. In addition, the candidate must meet the requirements in one emphasis area of the program.

Admissions

M.Ed. program requirements, and application for admission are available online. The $30 application fee is waived for undergraduate alumni of Grand Valley.
