Grand Valley State University’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) in General Education offers an emphasis in Educational Technology Integration. This emphasis prepares educators at all levels to integrate technology into classroom settings.
The M.Ed. in General Education is offered through Grand Valley’s College of Education. The Educational Technology Integration emphasis program content includes the educational application of technology, including computers and the Internet, for a variety of professional and instructional purposes. Courses concentrate on pedagogical issues, curriculum integration, software and Web site evaluation, acquisition and use of instructional materials and media, social and ethical issues for technology use in K-12 settings, school and classroom adoption of technology and Web-based and on-line instructional development.
Each candidate for the M.Ed. degree must complete six semester hours in foundation courses in the following areas: research and evaluation and social foundations of education. In addition, the candidate must meet hte requirements in the emphasis area of the program. A minimum of 33 semester hours is required.
Graduate applications for admission are available online. The university application fee is waived for undergraduate alumni of Grand Valley.
Grand Valley offers an excellent education at a reasonable cost and offers a number of ways to finance your graduate degree. Several scholarships are available through the College of Education for candidates who qualify. College of Education students may be eligible to receive a Federal TEACH Grant of up to $4,000 per year.
