Course Information: Online-Only Program

This program prepares educators at all levels to integrate technology into classroom settings. Program content includes the educational application of technology, including computers and the Internet, for a variety of professional and instructional purposes. All courses are offered online using a web-based learning environment, therefore some of the courses required are different from the hybrid program option.

Grand Valley State University’s College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

NOTE: Students must take a self-assessment before registering for any courses towards a M.Ed. in Educational Technology. The self-assessment is designed to ensure that students who take graduate educational technology emphasis area courses have the knowledge and skill required to be successful in these classes.

Virtual Advising

Students are always welcome to visit Grand Rapids, MI, but are not required to do so. Alternative means of scheduled advising sessions include telephone or scheduling an appointment to use the online educational environment (Wimba). Advisors will setup a day and time for advising sessions which will occur at least once-a-year. During these sessions, students can ask questions, get information, clarifications, and find out which courses are available in the future. Students can also contact their academic advisor by phone or e-mail when they have questions about the program, courses, etc.
