Courses for Criminal Justice, M.S.

The Criminal Justice, M.S. consists of a minimum of 36 hours if choosing the Comprehensive Exam option or 33 hours if choosing the Thesis option. The core required courses consists of 18 credit hours as follows along with Student Learning Objectives:

Nine (9) to twelve (12) hours of Electives, Three (3) may be from OUTSIDE of Criminal Justice:

  •      CJ 640 Graduate Internship - highly recommended for students who have no prior criminal justice or private security work experience

  •      CJ 644 Forensic Behavior and Law
  •      CJ 680 Special Topics in Criminal Justice & Legal Studies
  •      CJ 691 Issues in Research and Writing
  •      CJ 699 Directed Readings
  •      Outside CJ Graduate Course -- must be pre-approved by Graduate Director
