For Jessica Scudder, giving to Grand Valley at a University Society level is an important part of being both and alumna and a leader.
"Grand Valley made me a priority when I was in college," she said. "As an alumna, I now feel that it is my turn to step up, to be a leader and to make Grand Valley a priority in my life by giving back."
Scudder, a 2001 graduate who works as District Manager at Foremost Insurance, feels that the university's support has helped her achieve the success she experiences today.
"I wouldn't be where I am without GVSU," she said. "The one-on-one interaction with professors, the time I spent with the professionals at career services, the internship the university helped me attain - these experiences all helped to build my confidence and prepare me for my success."
By making a gift to the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons, Scudder hopes to make these experiences possible for current students.
"I am proud to be from GVSU," she said. "And as a Grand Valley Laker, I want to help the university grow and help students succeed just like I did."
