What is your favorite Seidman memory?
My favorite Seidman memory is the amount of time I spent with my accounting study group. We spent hours, weeks, and months studying together and helping each other through many difficult classes. The significant time spent within the Seidman walls created friendships that now extend beyond Seidman.

Our building namesake – Bill Seidman – exhibited many desirable traits of a leader such as innovator, integrity, curiosity and future-minded. How did your experience at Seidman help you develop one or more of these traits?
My experiences at Seidman helped me to grow as a leader because it pushed me to be curious and innovative. Throughout my courses, I felt encouraged by the professors I had at Seidman to keep a questioning mind as I approached innovative solutions. This process taught me to continually delve into areas unfamiliar to me, allowing me to make discoveries and uncover opportunities. It is through the development of both these traits that I am more equipped to be a strong leader throughout my accounting career.

What would you like people in the community to know about Seidman graduates like you?
I would like people in the community to know that they should have confidence in the students coming out of Seidman. Seidman prepares graduates to make positive impacts as we tackle real-world problems. Our experiences at Seidman have prepared us to immediately enter the workforce and become assets to the companies employing us both through our professional and personal contributions.

What is your career aspiration?
My career aspiration is to become a successful business owner. I plan to get my CPA license and one day open my own practice where I will serve individuals and small businesses with my accounting and financial skills.

How did your time at Seidman College prepare you to contribute to your community as a Laker for a Lifetime?
My time at Grand Valley prepared me to contribute to my community as a Laker for a Lifetime by giving me the tools to spread a positive Laker effect. To me, the Laker effect means giving back to my community through the knowledge and skills I have gained, and my time at Grand Valley makes me feel prepared to do that. Knowing that I am a Laker for a Lifetime reminds me to hold myself to a higher standard both personally and professionally because I have had the opportunity to attend Seidman College and learn from such strong educators.
