George Gordon’s and his wife, Barbara’s, interest in the art collection of Mathias Alten has impacted Grand Valley State University in a profound way. Their gift of Mathias Alten paintings has helped establish a substantial collection at Grand Valley. The George H. Gordon Gallery in the Richard M. DeVos Center is named for him. George also created a fellowship at the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, which gives a Grand Valley student a unique learning experience each summer.
