Celebrating Success

On Wednesday, November 3, university donors and members of the Grand Valley community gathered at the dedication of the Daniel and Pamella DeVos Center for Interprofessional Health (DCIH). More than 700 donors helped make this most recent addition to the Health Campus expansion a reality.

Student Impact

Zoie Hulst ’20, Class of 2022, and Jared Gordon, Class of 2022, Found Their Home at Grand Valley.

From a young age, both Zoie and Jared knew they wanted to serve their communities by choosing careers in health care. As Grand Rapids natives, they were able to witness the growth of Medical Mile firsthand and wanted to be a part of it.

Featured Priority: Art Endowment

Grand Valley State University is a leader in providing innovative ways for students, the community, and the state to access art. With a collection of over 25,000 works of art, the primary goal is to focus on increasing and sustaining access for everyone. Students of all majors can engage with the collection every day on campus or online, utilize art in their courses to learn visual literacy and analysis, and experience different cultures and points of view.

SE Michigan Ambassadors

On Monday, August 16, representatives from Southeast Michigan met to create a new ambassadors group that will enlarge opportunities for the region’s next generation. Guests attended a reception to meet with other ambassadors and learn more about how they can help their community.

On Tuesday, September 14, Friends of Alten members gathered at the George and Barbara Gordon Gallery to celebrate Mathias J. Alten’s paintings. Dr. Matthew Daley spoke to the group about the view of West Michigan from Alten’s perspective.

On Wednesday, October 6, Grand Valley University Foundation Directors came together to reflect on the successes of the past year and conduct foundation business. The foundation welcomed John Russell as its newest director this year and discussed projects for the coming year.

Varsity Wrestling Campaign Kickoff

On Saturday, October 30, members of the Grand Valley Wrestling community and campaign committee gathered at the Alumni House on the Allendale Campus. Together we celebrated a transformational gift from the Harris family and kicked off the campaign to support the return of men’s wrestling, and the addition of women’s varsity wrestling at Grand Valley.
