Chris McGuigan, President and CEO of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, has been involved with Grand Valley State University for a number of years. She was active in the Grand Valley State University Lake Michigan Center project and campaigned for the Grand Valley Fund and the Joyce Hecht Distinguished Scholarship in Philanthropy. Before becoming involved with the Community Foundation for Muskegon County in 1999, Chris practiced law in Muskegon for 17 years, specializing in healthcare. She came to Muskegon in 1981 as an attorney with the corporate law firm of Landman, Luyendyk, Latimer, Clink and Robb, and a few years later, joined and became a partner in the firm of Lague, Newman and Irish. Chris has participated extensively in numerous local organizations as a community leader and volunteer. She also served as the first woman president of the Muskegon County Bar Association and received the Paul Harris Fellow award given by Rotary International in 2007.
