Installing wells in Haiti

Dr. Peter Wampler travelled to Haiti in June, 2013 to work with colleagues at Hôpital Albert Schweitzer (HAS) near Deschapelles, Haiti. Over a period of 5 days one well was converted from a hand-dug well to a sealed pump well and  new well was hand dug in a rural setting adjacent to a spring.  Bacterial monitoring of both wells indicates they are providing improved water quality and may be a promising way of providing sustainable safe water in Haiti.  You can learn more about Sustainable water in Haiti at www.gvsu.edu/haitiwater.
