MAP West Inaugural Event | Grand Rapids, Michigan | Thursday, October 19, 2017 The Michigan Association on of Planning (MAP) is bringing BBB to West Michigan!
Launched in Metro Detroit 5 years ago, MAP is expanding this successful event series to bring informal educational programming and networking opportunies to our members and friends in West Michigan.
From South Haven, Holland and Muskegon to Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Battle Creek (and everything in between!) look for events including walking tours, breakfast panels, brown bag lunches and “Planners’ Night Out” networking events at local watering holes. The events will cover planning and development in your communities, highlighting your innovative planning work. The BBB series is designed to energize and inspire in a fun and informal fashion.

4:30 - 5:30 Walking Tour-- the Grand Rapids River Restoration Project This walking tour will highlight the Grand Rapids River Restoration Project, an initiative headed by Grand Rapids Whitewater. The project focuses on the revitalization of the Grand River through Grand Rapids by restoring the City’s namesake Rapids to the river. Learn about this extraordinary multi-year, multi-partner planning, design and engineering project that will affect both the river itself and the surrounding area. The tour will highlight the complexities of the project, provide a project update, and explore the environmental, economic, and social benefits associated with a revitalized Grand River.
