Michigan Campus Compact Awards


Michigan Campus Compact (MiCC) recognizes outstanding community service and service-learning by faculty and staff members. The nomination process opens each fall, and closes early January of the next year. Awards are given out at the Awards Gala each spring.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award - This award recognizes a faculty member for his/her significant contributions to the institutionalization of community engagement and for advancing a vision of service on the campus by supporting faculty, students, and/or campus-community partnerships.
  • Network Leader Award - This award recognizes a faculty member for his/her significant contributions to the institutionalization of community engagement and for advancing a vision of service on the campus by supporting faculty, students, and/or campus-community partnerships.
  • Champion of Engagement Award – This award recognizes an individual who makes a significant contribution to the sustainability and institutionalization of community engagement (value and practice), with particular attention given to those who are able to bridge the activities of student affairs and academic affairs. 
  • Innovations in Community Impact Award – The Michigan Campus Compact Innovations in Community Impact award recognizes an innovative approach to community problem solving with measured community impact, led by an identified campus body and one or more community partners.
  • Engaged Campus of the Year Award – The Engaged Campus Award recognizes private institutions of higher education for exemplary commitment to engagement.
  • John DiBiaggio Beacon Award for Presidential Leadership – The John DiBiaggio Beacon Award for Presidential Leadership recognizes Michigan’s outstanding Presidents or Chancellors for significant contributions to the institutionalization of community engagement by inspiring a vision for service on the campus and supporting faculty, staff, students, and campus-community partnerships.
