A typology for capturing the heterogeneity of family firms
Mattias Nordqvist, Pramodita Sharma
2007

Using the configurational approach, this research aims to develop a typology of family firms by aligning three sets of variables: family values, extent of family involvement in business, and governance efficiencies. The overarching proposition is that family firms with a good fit between the guiding familial values, extent and mode of family involvement in business, and governance mechanisms adopted are better positioned for high performance.
