GVSU Wins International Award

*GVSU Seidman College of Business students and Dr. Joe Horak

Students from the Seidman College of Business at GVSU competed with nineteen teams from 10 different countries at the Second Annual Global Family Enterprise Case Competition at the University of Vermont in January, 2014.The team consisted of Tyler Kamps, Melissa Johnson, Anita Curtis and Jacob Czarniecki (the Captain) and was coached by Dr. Joe Horak, the Director of FOBI. We won for the best presenter in our division (Jacob Czarniecki) and the team won the award as The Most Creative and Innovative Team in the entire competition. (Thanks to help from co-coach Dr. Tim Syfert, Affiliate Instructor, at Seidman).
"The students showed incredible resiliency.  Three students had only a few hours of sleep (on the floor of LaGuardia Airport) the night before presenting in the first round.  GVSU won this first round presentation.  I am very proud of our team and what they accomplished on a world stage." - Joe Horak
