Description:

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad. Such international study is intended to better prepare U.S. students to assume significant roles in an increasingly global economy and interdependent world. Students must be Pell Grant recipients to be eligible for the award or provide proof that he/she will be receiving a Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of his/her study abroad.  

Additional Deadline Information:
The Spring 2013 application cycle is for study abroad programs beginning between December 15, 2012 and April 15, 2013. This cycle encompasses spring semester, quarter, calendar year, winter inter-session and January term programs that are a minimum of four weeks in length. The campus deadline for this application cycle has been set for September 25, 2012.
In addition Gilman has a Fall and Summer application cycle. The Fall cycle is for programs beginning in mid-July through mid-October. Them summer application cycle is for programs beginning between the start of May and start of August. The Grand Valley campus deadline for both the Fall and Summer application cycle has been set for February 22, 2013.
