The Family Business Alliance is a unique model of cross-sector cooperation that draws the best from research, expertise, practice, and service delivery for the benefit of family-owned businesses located in West Michigan.
Spearheaded by the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and the Family Owned Business Institute of Grand Valley State University's Seidman College of Business, and supported by family-owned businesses (as members) and firms providing services to them (as underwriters), the Alliance offers workshops, one-to-one assistance, small group intensives and networking opportunities, all focused on the distinct challenges family businesses face.  The Value Orientation and Value Agreement survey helps assess your firm's location on the contiumum between "valuing business success highly" on one end, and "valuing family success highly" on the other.  Most family businesses fall somewhere in the middle.  While there are no right or wrong answers, insights from this survey may prove helpful in understanding the dynamics at play in your family's business.  This survey is based on a national study of family owned business.
