The Alliance is a unique model of cross-sector cooperation that draws the best from research, expertise, practice, and service delivery for the benefit of family-owned businesses located in West Michigan.

Spearheaded by the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and the Family Owned Business Institute of Grand Valley State University's Seidman College of Business, and supported by family-owned businesses (as members) and firms providing services to them (as underwriters), the Alliance offers workshops, one-to-one assistance, small group intensives and networking opportunities, all focused on the distinct challenges family businesses face.
