Vendor's Spotlight: Frozen Creek Farms
Date: August 5, 2013
Frozen Creek has been farming for about 24 years. This vendor started out growing flowers and herbs for bouquets and arrangements. At the beginning stage of their business venture, they took part in developing the Freeze- Dry process for floral applications. This process gives the flowers a lasting “just picked” look. Today, Frozen Creek is the only Freeze- Dry Preservationist in Michigan. Specializing in Wedding Bouquets and Celebration of Life Flowers, Frozen Creek delivers beautiful arrangements for any occasion.
Expanding from their flower success, they began selling herbal dips, seasonings, vegetables, salsas, and jams. These advances helped the vendors remain profitable in difficult economic times.
Focusing on sustainability, they grow their vegetables in two high tunnels and the rest on 8 acres of their 30 acre farm. With compassion for both the customer and environment they earned the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program Verification. (Water, nutrient, herbicide, and pesticide management.)
