Breakfast
Is the "Pancakes with Presidents" breakfast open to anyone?
Everyone is welcome to attend the "Pancakes with Presidents" breakfast in the Lower Level Kirkhof- River Landing. There is a recommended donation of $5 at the door. Breakfast will be served between 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Lunch
Join us for Samples of Salsa in Kirkhof Center- Grand River Room. Plan on tasting Hispanic food, enjoying Hispanic artwork, learning to salsa dance, and make pinatas. You can also visit the Farmer's Market outside Kirkhof Center in the parking lot. Also, feel free to eat lunch on campus. Visit our Campus Restaurants website.
Dinner
Do I have to buy tickets for the "Taste of West Michigan"?
Yes. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.
What is "Taste of West Michigan"?
"Taste of West Michigan" will be held in the Fieldhouse Arena from 4 - 6 p.m. Saturday, October 3. The event will provide numerous dining options from a variety of restaurants in the West Michigan area. Please visit the "Taste of West Michigan" page for more information.
Check-in
Do I have to check-in if I plan on attending an event during Family Weekend?
You only need to check-in if you have pre-ordered tickets or t-shirts, or to register for a Family Weekend door prize -- but make sure to stop by and see the many exciting events happening in the Kirkhof Center!!
Do I have to pay to be a part of Family Weekend?
No. If you are attending a meal or an event that requires a ticket, you will be responsible for the payment. Most events and activities do not require tickets and are open to all GVSU students, faculty, staff and their families.
Parking
Where can I park?
No parking passes are required after 5 p.m. on Friday, so you can park anywhere on campus.

For football ticket information please contact Laker Athletics or call 616.331.3200.
If you would like to go to the game with your GVSU student, you must purchase a ticket for them.

What do I do if I never received a confirmation e-mail when I registered for tickets?
Sometimes you may not receive a confirmation e-mail for many reasons. If you registered but did not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact familyweekend@gvsu.edu, and we will send you a copy of a confirmation e-mail.
5K Run/Walk
Do I need to register in advance?
On-site registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Kirkhof Center. Only the first 100 participants will receive a free t-shirt.
Where does the run/walk take place?
It begins at the Kirkhof Center and goes throughout the campus.
Other
Can I bring young children?
Yes. This is a family friendly weekend! There will be several activities for all ages at the Kirkhof Center as well as local attractions that will appeal to the entire family.
Do I only receive a SWEET treat from Grand Valley for wearing the Family Weekend 'Get in the swing of things' t-shirt?
No. Anyone who is spotted on campus wearing any Family Weekend t-shirt or Grand Valley family apparel will receive a sweet treat.
