Do I have to check-in if I plan on attending an event during Family Weekend?
You only need to check-in if you have pre-ordered tickets or t-shirts -- but make sure to check the website for ALL events happening during Family Weekend!
Do I have to pay to be a part of Family Weekend?
No. If you are attending a meal or an event that requires a ticket, you will be responsible for the payment. Most events and activities do not require tickets and are open to all GVSU students, faculty, staff and their families.
Where can I park?
No parking passes are required after 5 p.m. on Friday and through the weekend during the Family Weekend events, so you can park anywhere ON Campus except in paid football lots.
OFF campus parking in apartment complexes will need a Visitor's Temporary Parking Pass. Parking rules will be enforced in these areas during the Family Weekend.
You may visit the Farmer's Market outside Kirkhof Center in the parking lot. Also, feel free to eat lunch on campus. Visit our Campus Restaurants website.
What is the cost for the Meadows Golf Outing and what does the package include?
The cost is $45.00 per person and includes:18 holes, 4 person scramble, shot gun start, golf cart, practice balls, and gift bag.
How can I pre-order Football Tickets?
Go to our Football Tickets tab to see the step by step on how to order football tickets for Family Weekend. For more football ticket information please contact Laker Athletics or call 616.331.3200.
If you would like to go to the game with your GVSU student, you must purchase a ticket for them to sit with you. They receive a FREE ticket but can only sit in the student section with that ticket.
What do I do if I never received a confirmation e-mail when I registered for tickets?
You will receive a confirmation email, but if you did not receive one, please contact email@example.com, and we will send you a copy of a confirmation e-mail.
Is the "Pancakes with Presidents" breakfast open to anyone?
Everyone is welcome to attend the "Pancakes with Presidents" breakfast in the Lower Level Kirkhof - River Landing. There is a recommended donation of $5 per person cash or check at the door. Breakfast will be served between 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m.
Do I need to register in advance?
On-site registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. in the Kirkhof Center. The first 100 participants will receive a free t-shirt!
Where does the run/walk take place?
It begins at the Kirkhof Center and goes throughout the campus.
Does a Grand Valley student need a ticket to paid events?
If you are planning on attending an event that requires a ticket, that means a Grand Valley student also needs a ticket.
Can I bring young children?
Yes. This is a family friendly weekend! There will be several activities for all ages at the Kirkhof Center as well as local attractions that will appeal to the entire family.
