Volunteer

There are a variety of ways you can volunteer your time with Grand Valley:

Orientation

If you are an experienced parent and remember your own Orientation experience, we could use your help in staffing our welcome table at New Student Orientations from May through August. Our welcome table is staffed weekday mornings for a couple of hours. Volunteers pass out information, sign up parents to receive the Family Association newsletter and offer their unique Grand Valley experiences. Visit our events webpage to learn more about volunteering at Orientation.

Say Thank You

Did you know families of Grand Valley students give to the university to help support programs and services that benefit all of our students? Gifts to the Grand Valley Fund support free tutoring, increase Career Services resources and much more. If you’d like to help us say “Thank You” to our donor families we can connect you during our annual Thank-A-Thon in July. For more information, call our office at (616) 331-5709 or email familyassociation@gvsu.edu.

Move In

Been there? Done that? Remember that good feeling of having lots of GV Lakers help unload your car? Pay it forward and give your time with our faculty, staff and alumni during move-in week. A variety of options and times are available, call our office at (616) 331-5709 or email familyassociation@gvsu.edu for more information.
