Electrical Engineering in the Architecture/Engineering Industry

Major: Engineering - Electrical I aided in the layout and design of lighting systems in new construction buildings as well as historical renovations. I also provided design assistance in the layout of power distribution systems within these buildings according to local, state and national electric codes. I provided assistance on a variety of different building projects for K-12 education, higher education (including projects for Grand Valley State University), historical building renovations, healthcare facilities, and large scale airport renovations.

Major: Sports Leadership Tasks included scheduling, set-up/tear down, admissions, game manager, student-athlete elgibility, official and game contracts, communications with parents, coaches and other ADs', etc. Worked closely on projects like new strategic plan for the District Athletic Code and Coaching Handbook.

Major: Engineering - Product Design and Manufacturing I had a few major projects throughout the summer as well as small tasks. My main projects were; (1) Record cycle times of the top 80% of parts based on quantity shipped in order to get a base line standard. Also involved with this project was timing change over times to get a base line for those as well. (2) Layout proposal for the redesign of a cell. The purpose of the redesign was to see how the addition of another trim machine would affect the cycle time of that part. (3) Running samples of different sheet where regrind material was replaced with reproduced material to see how the different material affects quality of the finished part.
