Major: Sports Leadership I was responsible for donor prospect research, reaching out and thanking donors, answering phone calls, updating personal information, and helping out in any other way that the team needed. My three months here were a very busy time for us because we run on a fiscal year from July 1st - June 30th. I also did a lot of administrative work to help keep our office from falling behind. This work included folding thank you letters, stuffing envelopes, creating new donor packets, scanning in pledge forms, and doing mail runs.
Major: International Relations Unlike other internships in which I have participated, I was only responsible for one project - I was to interview Saudi students studying in the United States and ask them for their impressions of the U.S, what they miss about home and what job prospects are like back home. I was assigned this task because the U.S embassy in Riyadh is not allowed to approach students in the country so they relied on me to gather this information. I reached out using social media and existing contacts to gather these interviews. I utilized a small questionnaire I composed.
Major: Health Professions I worked with physical therapists, psychiatrists, a nurse to assistant in the daily activities provided within the school and the residential facility. I assisted within the classroom setting, therapy setting as well as the physical therapy sessions in the gym as well as the hydrotherapy in the spa. I assisted in feeding residents who do not have use of their hands as well as bathroom assistance.
