Description of the Organization
Evoqua is a global leader in water purification on an industrial level. Evoqua makes water purification products that are used in countless industries for multiple purposes. The department that I have been assigned to is Separation Technologies, where we make filter presses to separate contaminants from water for industrial and environmental applications.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I am a design engineer, so I create drawings and models of filter presses according to the customer's selected options. Occasionally I will help out with creating aftermarket retrofits to competitors products.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
This experience has given me knowledge in the entire process of production. This semester I had in increased role in helping with piping and instrumentation diagrams, which has shown me all the work that goes into the planning, documentation, and production processes of building large scale machines.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this co-op was my increased role in the company. This semester I was given much more responsibility and work. Meeting stressful deadlines and working late has paid off as it has given me recognition within the company.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has proved to myself and others that I am capable and hardworking, which creates confidence in my career aspirations.
