Are you applying for a nationally competitive award this semester?  If so, plan to attend this writing workshop.  You will learn strategies on how to write strong personal statements that will engage a selection committee's attention and make you stand out from the crowd! 

Most scholarships and fellowships requiere that you write a personal statement.  They are designed to give the selection committee a sense of who you are and how closely your goals, strengths, and experiences match the ideals of a specific award, so they are a crucial part of your application.

Bring a draft of a statement, if you have one.  Writing consultants will be available to help you generate and develop ideas for your statement through this hands-on workshop.
