Closing our season is the world premiere of Tirso de Molina’s Antona
Garcia translated into English and adapted by Grand Valley professors
Jason Yancey and James Bell. Tirso is one of the great playwrights from
the Spanish Golden Age, and his Antona Garcia tells the story of the
beautiful and courageous Antona during Spain’s war against Portugal.
The play has never been translated into English, and it will feature
traditional entremeses (entre-acts) in Spanish.
