Climbing Center (FH 170c)

Co-sponsored by Campus Recreation, the El Cap. Challenge is an endurance climbing challenge for GVSU students of all climbing ability.  In teams of 2, students will have 4 weeks to climb a combined vertical footage equal to that of the Nose route of El Capitan (2,900 ft). 

There will be two categories in which students can register:  Recretaional (non-competitive) & Rock Star (competitive)

Both categories will have the opportunity to win weekly raffle prizes.  Climbers in the Rock Star category will also be competing for various team awards including the coveted first to summit.

Registration will begin on Monday, January 9th.

Due to an elevated risk of developing over-use injuries, this challenge is not recommended for people who have not climbed before or may have just started.
