Communicating with your teenager can be challenging, to say the least. Although most teens seem quite adept at communicating with other teenagers, talking to parents can be a somewhat different experience. For parents of teenagers, learning a little about teens can help communication be less frustrating and allow open discussions about important issues affecting the family. Dr. Matthew Clark will provide tips that can help parents more effectively talk with their teens. Key areas of the discussion will be listening techniques, paying attention to language, respect, compromise, concern, reading nonverbal cues, appreciation, clarification, and consistency.
